Define raster11/28/2022 BMP, TIFF, GIF and JPEG are some of the raster image file formats available. The raster file is sometimes referred to as a bitmap because it contains information that is directly mapped to the display grid. ) A raster image file identifies which of these coordinates to illuminate in monochrome or color values. (And for three-dimensional images, a z coordinate. Fortunately, there are already image compression techniques and algorithms that have been made to address that problem. A raster is a grid of X and Y coordinates on a display space. Since raster graphics store much information, they require large file sizes and they can be a bit of a hassle to work with. Vector graphics are better suited for typesetting and graphic design. Each cell contains an attribute value and location coordinates. Vector graphics, on the other hand, is able to scale up to any resolution because of it uses geometry and mathematical equations to define images rather than directly mapping pixels in a grid. Rasters are spatial data models that define space as an array of equally sized cells, arranged in rows and columns, and composed of single or multiple bands. The image will look blocky and pixelated. It can be scaled down with no changes in quality, but when the resolution is scaled up, quality loss is unavoidable. The main disadvantage of raster graphics is that it is dependent on resolution. Pixels can be edited but it takes a lot more effort and skill. The word raster was borrowed from the term 'raster scan,' which was how old CRT monitors displayed images, by magnetically steering a concentrated electron beam line by line to form an image. This is a close-up visual of how pixels look compared to nodes in a vector image.

I felt a conection with this song and I made me more confident. This is my favorite one of his songs because of the lyrics and just how catchy they are and how nice they flow. What can I say, I'm a suburban white kid who loves Eminem. Always gives me inspiration when I'm down! This song is the best song by Eminem, and one of the best of all time. Now that Not Afraid came out it tells you that you can overcome anything. At one point in my life I liked lose yourself better. Don't really understand why Lose Yourself is on top because it's nothing compared to Not Afraid. The cool song for the fans who love eminem and rap songs see this song official video a cool song with the cool video. This is actually one of my pump-up songs that I'd listen to when working out or something like that. You got the outrageous beat, Nate Dogg executing that chorus, and Eminem's motivational lyrics and rapping, creates heaven in a song. 'Till I Collapse is one of Eminem's best songs out there. My other favorites are No Love, Not Afraid, Wont Back Down (I'm shocked that wont back down is number 45?! ) Insane, Lose Yourself, Fast Lane, SpaceBound, and I loved him in Romans Revenge, he got the best lyrics, although its quite insulting that he'd work with someone as shallow as Nicki Minaj Very good flow, great lyrics, great music! And Nate Dogg just adds to its awesomeness. There were so many to choose from! But this song seems underrated so I chose it. This song pumps me up so much! It eats Not Afraid alive! This song is one of the best pump up songs of all time (if not the best) Nate Dogg's chorus kind of let me down, though. This song made me like rap so it is definitely my favorite.Įarth-shattering beat and flow with incredible verses. After this I decided to listen to more Eminem and I listened to the words and I absolutely love his music, he is purely genius. This song tells a sickening story but the story is great. I figured that it was rap, so I might as well listen to the lyrics. One day my friend showed me this song and I really liked the music, so I continued to listen to it. I used to never listen to rap because I listen to the music in songs instead of lyrics. How could you not love it? I disagree with whoever said it has great rhymes in it because it doesn't really but to tell a cohesive, progressive story with a plot twist and an internal-external perspective with a flow and yes, SOME rhyming is amazing. Hope you don't mind and hope you like it.' When they sent it to me and I played it, I was like, 'Wow! This track's amazing.'" It said, 'We like your album, we've used this track. I got this letter out of the blue one day. #WHATS IT CALLED WHEN ALL SONGS ON AN ALBUM FLOW MOVIE#"Thank You" was used in the Gwyneth Paltrow movie Sliding Doors, and became a hit almost two years later after it was used on this.ĭido told MTV: "A hip-hop producer named DJ Mark 'The 45' King sampled the first part of 'Thank You' from the TV - and he put it on a beat tape, as they do, and sent it to Eminem and he used it. This samples "Thank You" from Dido, a British singer/songwriter. Its awesome how the beat compliments the narrative. Song tells a story, once again great lyrics from the greatest rapper ever. All this with a captivating beat, semantically structured sentences, powerful lyrics with an expansive vocabulary and my favourite ever chorus. Not only that, he lands each sequence conclusion on a specific drum beat every instrumental revolution for a climactic effect. Eminem alternates several different intricate rhyme schemes of 2-5 syllables simultaneously in every verse and in the 1st verse of 2 thirds of the total syllables are rhymed. I have this set as my ringtone for a reason. "You can do anything you set your mind to, man. Stan (One of the best story telling songs ever! ) These are by far some of the best songs he's made! Not in order, But there is so many more but I believe these here should be up the top definitely. The rhythm the writing the beat it just says it all the way he starts slow then turns it up like a bomb it's just something only marshall mathers can do all props to the best rapper there is or ever was or ever will be EMINEM! Well written, has a message, great sample.

The trail of the lonesome pine 191511/27/2022 As such, hard colour contrasts are rejected in favour of a mixture of neutral (gray and beige) with analogous hues (red-rose and brown) of roughly constant saturation and subtly graduated brightness. The film's design also combines details of flat, unsaturated colours to produce a varied - though neutralized - background for action. Dominated by cabin interiors and woodland, the setting of Hathaway's picture is generally rendered in shades and tones of brown and gray when other hues are present (mostly in green foliage and blue sky) they often possess a pronounced gray undertone. Whereas Becky Sharp indulged in highlights against a neutral background, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine deliberately avoided using accents, instead varying the neurals to create a more complex texture. The use of subdued colours made the scenes look more like real life. One of the top five highest-grossing pictures of the year, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine served as the model for a brief cycle of colour «ecology dramas,» including 20th Century Fox's Ramona (1936) and Warner Bros.' God Is Where You Find It (1938).įrames of The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, showing the characters wearing mostly gray clothes. Dave eventually sacrifices his own life to end the violence between the families, opening the way for June to marry Jack, who has by now turned her into the sophisticated lady that she had always wanted to be. This romantic entanglement is complicated by a feud between the Tollivers and the Fallins, who inadvertently kill June's little brother Buddie (George «Spanky» MacFarland) in a bombing at his construction site. Based on John Fox Jr.'s eponymous 1908 novel, this Paramount release centers on a love triangle between coal-company engineer Jack Hale (Fred MacMurray), wild country girl June Tolliver (Sylvia Sidney), and her fiancé and cousin, Dave Tolliver (Henry Fonda). The landmark film in the restrained mode was Henry Hathaway's The Trail of Lonesome Pine (1936), which was also the first three-strip Technicolor feature to be shot on an outdoor location. The final stage in Process IV consisted of bringing the matrices for each strip into high-pressure contact with the receiver, which imbibed and held the dyes, thus rendering a wider spectrum of colour than previous technologies. Since this was also a subtractive system, the dyes were complementary to the colour of light recorded by the negative printed on it: cyan for red, magenta for green and yellow for blue. The three negatives were printed onto the corresponding matrices (one for each colour), which were then developed, bleached and washed to form reliefs that could absorb the dyes for the imbibition process. Using a special dichroic beam-splitter equipped with two 45-degree prisms in the form of a cube, light from the lens was deflected by the prisms and split into two paths to expose each one of three black-and-white negatives (one each to record the densites of red, green and blue). In response to the sudden decline in colour films, Kalmus and his associates introduced the Technicolor Process Number IV, which, unlike its predecessors, recorded all three primary hues. Since dye imbibition was not suitable for printing optical soundtracks, which required very high resolution, the blank stock used for sound-on-film system was a conventional black-and-white stock on which the soundtrack, as well as the frame lines, had been printed in the regular way prior to the dye transfer operation. The two strips would then come into direct contact in a machine that used pressurized rollers to emboss the dyes in colours nominally complementary to those of the camera filters into a single print, thus eliminating some of the problems that had become evident with the double-cementing method. This technique involved the coating of a normal thickness 35mm matrix with the appropriate dye and its subsequent transfer onto a special blank stock. The two strip negatives were exposed in the same fashion as in the previous cement method, only this time the two images were printed on the side of the positive through the incorporation of dye imbibition. A crucial step in the Technicolor system was taken in 1928 with the introduction of dye-transfer printing, known as Technicolor Process Number Three.

The circle11/27/2022 Still, in no show do we get to see this strategizing as well as we do in The Circle. And doing so in a way that is actually true to yourself, well, that might lead to your behavior being misconstrued as erratic or plain fake.Įxamining your every single move and word through strategic lenses is Reality Competition 101. Refusing to do so might result in other players thinking you are too secretive and, therefore, untrustworthy, or simply boring. After all, due to the pressure of the game and their limited time to build connections, they must show who they are very quickly. To say that no reality show contestant exhibits in real life any of the traits they present in-game would be a lie, but they certainly aren’t allowed to be as tridimensional as they would be in a non-televised scenario. There are also those that like to assert dominance over their fellow players, as well as those that enjoy going the lone wolf route. Some prefer to play the fool, pretending to be not as smart or strong as they actually are so others won’t see them as a threat - the same strategy adopted by The Circle’s Alex, a nerdy 34-year-old catfishing as a frat bro in his early 20s. In every social experiment-like reality show, from the aforementioned Big Brother to Survivor to Too Hot to Handle, participants must make themselves as amenable, dependable, and trustworthy as possible to win favor with prospective allies. This personality crafting, however, isn’t exclusive to The Circle. Her hair looked too '80s for someone claiming she got married after the turn of the millennium, and no one considered the possibility that some people don’t keep up with fashion trends. In Season 3 of the American series, 52-year-old Michelle had to face off against a catfish version of herself and lost because she couldn’t answer a question about her wedding photo satisfactorily. A similar issue afflicted model Lou in The Circle France. In The Circle Brazil, model and former aspiring Miss Brazil Ana Carla was blocked because players saw her as too pretty to be real due to her professional-looking profile pic. This obsession with busting the phonies has led to some interesting developments. If you were to take a shot every time someone in The Circle says the words authentic, real, genuine, or catfish, well… let’s just say you better live near a well-supplied liquor store. Still, from the very first episode, players were on the lookout to get those profiles that just didn’t seem real as far away from the prize as possible. Sniffing out catfishes isn’t a rule of The Circle. To keep up the disguise, it’s important to craft an aura of likeability and, of course, genuineness. In The Circle, there’s no way of knowing if you’re chatting with an Italian-American mom from New Jersey named Carol or if you’re really sliding into the DMs of her son, John. They can either play as themselves or catfish as supposedly more interesting people to be voted influencers and avoid being blocked. There is, however, a twist: locked up in small, one-bedroom apartments, contestants can only speak to each other through an in-game text-and-photo-based social media platform called The Circle. RELATED: Netflix Introduces Players from 'The Circle' Season 4 in New Video Confined to a single location, with no contact with the outside world, players must face off against one another and form alliances to make it to the end. The series’ premise is quite simple, similar to what viewers have gotten used to seeing in other social competition reality shows, such as Big Brother. So far, the streamer has released four seasons of the American version of the game, as well as a Brazilian and a French version, each one with a single season on the platform. Created by British network Channel 4 and originally released in 2018, the show’s format was picked up by Netflix in 2020. Authenticity is a valuable asset in The Circle.

Printpress alamogordo11/20/2022 Finally Chang is born and is quickly indoctrinated into Mao’s communist machine as a Red Guard. Then Yu-Fang’s daughter Bao Qin and her husband experience horrendous trauma under Chairman Mao Zedong’s regime. The clear image of Yu-Fang’s (the author’s grandmother) having her feet broken repeatedly by her mother, bandaged and curled into tiny shoes is forever seared in my mind (her mother was preparing her for sale as a concubine to a high-ranking military official). I can visualize them now as if two decades hasn’t passed by since I read it. My first stand out shake-up was Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang, about the lives of three generations of Chinese women: Chang, her mother and her grandmother. High school and university is not the end! After all, education is what you make it. So I look for omitted histories and in the process I’ve created my own masterclass. When I consider the divisiveness in America today, I often think our narrow racist education has much to answer for. It’s necessary to listen to different experiences and learn from them. For this reason I’ve gravitated towards nonfiction, particularly memoirs. I don’t want to reinforce what I’ve been taught to know, I want to be challenged, shaken up. The more I read the more I seek out books that teach me something new. And some of these journeys, past and present, have been literally life changing. Since starting this blog with Lisa, I am whipping through books and traveling like never before. Wayfinding through books is an exciting way to experience the world. Eventually I end up in Russia sitting in on a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Rex Tillerson before heading off again to who knows where. A book about Appalachia may lead to reading a book about steel mills, so I pack my bags for Cleveland! I then jump a train to a West Virginian honkytonk and after a few beers somehow wind up hungover in a Texas oil field. The beauty of traveling this way is that I don’t have to. Sometimes I love a place so much I don’t want to leave. So far this year I have gone to Iran, ancient Greece, England, Russia, Italy, the Jim Crow South and Cleveland (saved the best for last).
